Okposo, Islanders Agree To 5-Year, $14M Deal

Kyle Okposo agreed to a five-year, $14M deal on Wednesday to stay with the Islanders, according to an ESPN.com report. The 23-year-old right wing, who could have become a restricted free agent on July 1, had five goals and 15 assists last season, his fourth in the NHL, all with New York. Okposo missed the Islanders' first 44 games after he tore the labrum in his right shoulder during training camp in September and underwent surgery.

Rangers Agree To Terms With Goaltender Scott Stajcer

Rangers President and GM Glen Sather announced today that the club has agreed to terms with goaltender Scott Stajcer. Stajcer, 19, will participate in the 2011 CHL Memorial Cup in Mississauga, Ontario, after capturing the OHL Championship with the Owen Sound Attack. Stajcer led the Attack and ranked fourth in the OHL with a career-high, eight playoff wins. During the regular season, Stajcer posted a 10-3-0 record with a career-best, 2.99 goals against average, a .901 save percentage and one shutout in 14 games with Owen Sound. The Cambridge, Ontario native was originally the Rangers fifth round choice, 140th overall, in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

Rangers Agree To Terms With Christian Thomas

Rangers President and GM Glen Sather announced today that the club has agreed to terms with forward Christian Thomas. Thomas, 18, ranks first in the OHL with 95 goals over the last two seasons, and eighth in scoring with 165 points over the span. He captured "Most Dangerous in Goal Area" and "Best Shot" honors in the 2010-11 Eastern Conference Coaches Poll and was voted runner-up in "Hardest Shot" after finishing second among all Canadian Hockey League skaters with a career-high 54 goals. The Toronto, Ontario native was originally the Rangers second round choice, 40th overall, in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.

Corey Crawford Re-Signs With Hawks

The Blackhawks and goaltender Corey Crawford agreed to a three-year contract Thursday. The deal is worth about $8M, according to a source familiar with the situation. Crawford gets $3.25M in the first year, $2.25M in the second and $2.5M in the final year, a source told ESPN.com's Pierre LeBrun.

Islanders, Grabner Agree To 5-Year Deal

The Islanders are keeping leading goal-scorer Michael Grabner in the fold, agreeing to terms on a five-year deal. The deal is worth $15M, a source told ESPN.com, with Grabner's salary at $1M in 2011-12, and increasing by a million each year through 2015-16. Grabner, 23, led the Islanders and all NHL rookies with 34 goals and was a team-high plus-13. During All-Star Weekend, he won the fastest-skater competition, and is a finalist for the Calder Trophy, given to the league's top rookie.

Rangers Agree To Terms With Jason Wilson

Rangers President and GM Glen Sather announced today that the club has agreed to terms with forward Jason Wilson. Wilson, 21, skated in 64 games with the Niagara IceDogs of the OHL this season, registering 18 goals and 25 assists for 43 points.  He established career-highs in games played, goals, assists, points, and plus/minus rating. The 6-3, 208-pounder has skated in 162 career OHL contests with London, Owen Sound and Niagara, registering 47 goals and 48 assists for 95 points. The Richmond Hill, Ontario native was originally the Rangers fifth round choice, 130th overall, in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.

Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that the club has agreed to terms with forward Roman Horak. Horak, 19, skated in 64 games with the Chilliwack Bruins of the WHL this season, registering 26 goals and 52 assists for 78 points, along with 60 penalty minutes. He established career-highs in goals, assists, points, and power play goals (19). The Ceske Budejovice, Czech Republic native was originally the Rangers fifth round choice, 127th overall, in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
